That Feeling

I’ve always loved living in destinations. The coast, the mountains, the wide-open spaces, each one has given me “that feeling”: centered, at peace, alive.

On the water, it was skimming across endless waves or chasing friends along winding channels.
In the mountains, it was the quiet zen of mountain biking through trails, a rhythm I’ve carried with me wherever I go.

Now I live in a quiet suburb, not exactly a destination, but a place where people work, live, and play. And still, this past weekend, I found it again. My friend John and I drove a short distance with our Onewheels to ride a trail system known for its epic flow. Conditions weren’t perfect, a little slick from the rain, but we pieced together 15 miles, mixing in some asphalt when the dirt got too wet. Conversation flowed, and every so often, so did we, straight into that blissful flow state.

At the end of the day, I felt two things: tired (in the best way) and grateful. Because no matter what, it was an adventure. And adventure always brings me back to “that feeling.”

The truth is, it’s never really been about living in a destination. It’s about adventuring every day, living, working, playing, and showing up as the best human I can be. That happens when things align: when work, relationships, movement, and even stillness sync up like balanced chakras.

That’s the heartbeat of the Mindful Movement Project: it’s not about the ride. It’s about being the best you can possibly be – mindfully, through movement.
